Recently, the longest running hacking scheme in the United
States was exposed a month back by US attorney Paul Fisherman. The group that
had five members including four Russians and a Ukrainian, managed a
sophisticated gang performed hacking since 2005 till the last couple of months.
They stole and sold almost 160 million credit cards that resulted in a loss of
hundreds of millions of Dollars. The criminal groups easily operated in the
United States of America and made big corporations their victim.
As Paul Fisherman called it the biggest hacking and data
breach scheme, some of the well known victims of this scheme were electronic
stock exchange NASDAQ, 7 eleven Inc, JCPenney Co, The New England Supermarket
chain Hannaford and some other business big guns. It was told that the group of
cyber criminals used to communicate with instant messages, when the NASDAQ was
hacked; one member sent a message to other that “NASDAQ is owned”. A member was
given a duty of checking Google News to know whether their activities have been
reported or not.
The group was identified as sophisticated hackers who had
some extraordinary capabilities of stealing data. They were capable of breaking
respectable data security barriers of multinational companies. Those were
professional and had an incredible ability of hacking and breaching data. But,
what about your data, your data is also precious and can easily be breached
without having bizarre skills. You need to give protection to your information;
using security software that can lock folders can be a good
step towards data security. Data breach has become extremely common; your data
have been always on the stake getting breached.
Your personal information such as cell number, address,
email address or social security number can be the targeted data to be stolen.
Similarly, credit or debit card number, account information and other financial
records can be breached to perform frauds. You need to keep yourself aware of
the techniques of hacking and data breach, so that, you can protect yourself
from any such loss.
